Hope Church Longsight

Who are we?

We are a community of Hope. We're a diverse church with people from different continents brought together by the love of God, the word of God, and the call to serve Longsight and beyond.   We know that everyone has questions, and no-one's perfect, but we see Jesus as the Hope of the World, because He changed us.

Our vision is simple: it’s to know the love of God in Jesus and to share it with others. We want to know God better, to love our neighbours and to love each other. We want to see the message of God’s love in Jesus come to our neighbourhood. We want people to see that God can bring people together in love.

We come from 4 different continents, and many different countries. Our church, although it isn't large, has people who speak various languages: English, Urdu, Hindi, Farsi, Arabic, French, Kurdish, Cantonese and others. We offer help for people to understand God’s word in their own language.

What's our story?

Hope Community Church, Longsight is only a few years old: we first gathered for Sunday worship in 2018 and since then, we've met in a few different venues.  We're part of the Antioch Network and are committed to being a community which serves all the people of Longsight.

What do we believe

We believe in the timeless truths of God's word, revealed in the Bible:

That God is one.  That he exists as the Father, from whom all things come, the Son (or Word), Jesus the Messiah, the saviour of the world, through whom all things exist, the Holy Spirit, who fills us, moves in the world and speaks to God's people.   We believe in the return of Jesus to judge the living and the dead.   If you have any questions, please get in touch.

What people say...
I was in a dark, lonely place for many years, and alcohol had destroyed my faith, hope and was destroying me and my family. In 2017 I found Oldhams Church and my relationship with Jesus. I haven't touched a drop of alcohol since. A true miracle from God
